Shane joined Smith & Williamson in April 2006 as a director in investment management and is responsible for a large number of portfolios for private clients, trusts, charities and SIPPs.

Shane became a member of the Stock Exchange in 1978 and a partner of Panmure Gordon in 1981. He was head of the private client department for ten years and a member of the executive committee.

Shane moved to Leopold Joseph in 1996 and was head of investment management until 2003 and a main board director.
