Wilson specialises in acting for private clients with particular emphasis on trusts and estates. In both a personal capacity and as a director of Smith & Williamson Trust Corporation Limited, he acts as a trustee of a wide range of private and corporate trusts. He advises on fiduciary issues and has acted as an expert witness in claims against trustees. He has been appointed executor and trustee by the courts.
Wilson is a founder member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is currently the President of the Association of Corporate Trustees (TACT). He is also a member of the Charity Law Association and of the Institute for Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Wilson lectures regularly on issues affecting trustees and is the co-author of the latest edition of Ranking Spicer and Pegler’s Executorship Law Trusts and Accounts publisher by Lexis Nexis Butterworth.
Wilson joined Smith & Williamson in 1994, having previously been a partner with Buzzacott.
