Peter joined the firm in 1992 to head up the Business Rescue team. He has 25 years’ experience with firms including Arthur Andersen and Touche Ross. Licensed as an Insolvency Practitioner by the DTI, he is also a Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals and a Member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association and the Institute of Credit Management.
Peter leads a team that is experienced in all areas of Restructuring and Recovery, including Receiverships, Administrations, Voluntary Arrangements, Liquidation and Bankruptcy. Recent assignments have included a number of “turnaround” situations, an area of particular interest to Peter. He always seeks to avoid formal insolvency where possible and is a great supporter of Company and Individual Voluntary Arrangements (CVA & IVA).
Able to demonstrate extensive experience in the use of solvent liquidations, these have been exploited to enable tax efficient distributions to shareholders and to effect closure of dormant, or redundant, companies. They have also been used in complex re-organisation and restructuring assignments using Section 110 arrangements, facilitating asset optimisation strategies, including earn-outs, and, on one occasion, facilitating the run-off of a trading agri-business, with income during the period in charge of over £80 million.
Peter and his team have experience in many industry areas, including hotels, licensed trade and leisure, construction, transport and many types of engineering.
